Hello and TGIF!
I TGIF every Friday, but this Friday, maybe because it's the first full week of school, I am REALLY TGIFing.
I wanted to show you something kind of fun today. An aunt of mine was going through some of her photos, and she had a copy of a Halloween picture from 2002. She gave it to me. I thought, what am I gonna do with this? Luckily, I had some cute Bella Blvd Halloween papers on hand, so even though it's out of chronological order, I decided to scrap it. This is my now 14 year old daughter, in 2002, dressed as a lion.
Oh boy, was this a trip down memory lane. It might have even been pre-digital camera for us, but isn't she the cutest l'il lion ever?
Just a couple of quick details about my layout---I mixed some purple paint with modeling paste to get those cute dots!
And here is a close-up of a gray chevron flower I made, which luckily went well with all of the paper and embellishments I used.
And that isn't even the fun part. I went back in my scrapbook albums and actually found where I had scrapped this picture the first time...boy has everything, my style included, changed!
This is my first layout, from 2002.
Let's do a side by side, to put it in a true perspective.
Wow. Back then, I only used 81/2 X 11 paper. Had 12 X 12 been invented yet? I used two pieces of patterned paper, and seven embellishments. Plus the layout is almost kind of country, which is NOT me at all(and never has been, but you use the papers you have!). In the 2014 layout, I used four pieces of paper, and 14 embellishments, if I am counting right. I am SO glad there is all this beautiful stuff available now, and if you haven't checked out Bella's Halloween Line, you should...it's adorable!
How different are your layouts from when you first started?
Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by today!
What a great layout Sheila. I love your modeling paste dots. I'll have to try making those some time.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing them side by side! Your scrapping has changed a little bit, hasn't it?! Now I want to do this! I have some '90s pictures that probably deserve a better LO than they got back then. Maybe I'll have to redo one for fun....
