Hi there!
Today there is a new die-cut challenge at Stuck on You Sketches---use a die cut house on your project! It really wasn't that hard for me to choose a house OR a picture for this one...
I chose to cut these "row" houses out of plain red cardstock, but I also cut around the negative and layered it behind. I used Echo Park's Beautiful Life collection, which is probably one of my top three lines of all time. I think this is probably the last layout I can squeeze out of it---maybe I can still do a card...that's how much I have used it!
A couple of closeups:
Here's how I tied in the "house" die cut. I have seen this quote around the internet, and it rings totally true for me..."What I love most about my home is who I share it with..." So true---going on twenty years with my best friend and love of my life :)
Here is something lots of folk do but I was so excited to try---using splatters in different colors---
And I used a stencil for the sunburst and my watercolors...
And that's it! Now it is time for you to head over to SOUS to see what the rest of the DT came up with! Hope you will play along with us!
Have a great weekend!
I love it all!! The house and the sun burst rock my socks!

ReplyDeleteI love your sunburst.. and red house... this is great!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like this layout design. It is very bright and cheerful. We used the same cut file for this challenge. I didn't see it until after I posted. Oh well, a great cut file should be used more than once...lol. Love the layout.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awesome to completely use up a line of product! Kind of bittersweet, too. ;) This is a beautiful page, Shelia! I love the colours against the white and how modern it all looks. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! The house border on top of a pattern paper is a great idea. Love your design, too!
