My Little China Girl

Hello!
Today I would like to share a layout I am NOT in love with...sound weird?  Have you ever done a layout, but it doesn't live up to how much you love the pictures that are in (on) it?  Well, that's the case with this one.  Last summer, when we were in Union Station in Washington, D.C., there was a woman selling all sorts of kimonos, and parasols, and beautiful clothing that Lucie fell in love with.  She decided on the spot she wanted to be Chinese!  I can't say that I blame her---it is a culture I am fascinated with---but we settled on her being Chinese for Halloween.

I found a sketch at Color Me Scrappy that I loved, but I didn't love the color scheme that went with it for these pictures, so I couldn't enter it in the challenge.  I broke out one of my newer Basic Grey kits (Mint Julep) with lots of flowers..

Here it is:

I like it.  I don't love it.  Oh well.  You may see these same photos scrapped again in a different way.
Here is a closeup of some flair from ETSY, and a fussy cut stamp.

I busted out some old vellum, which seems to be coming back!  I put it over an old rub-on...trying to use old stuff up!

I appreciate you stopping by today!!!

  2. I really like the LO, but I have those moments (all too often lately) that I don't really love a LO I make. Gotta get that mojo back somehow! :) Love the color scheme and embellishments you used!

  3. I think it is a gorgeous page Sheila!! But I do know what you mean, about not loving it, because I've had that happen twice this week. I think we are just our own critics!! :) Perfect use of the BG with these photos!
