Isn't it strange to post a winter layout when I can hear my neighbor's lawn mower? I guess I am a bit behind.
I am starting to really use up some things I have had forever, and what I wanted to use was a ton of little October Afternoon labels. When I like a product, I buy it ALL. So I probably have like ten sheets of these labels. And while I still love them, I need a little room on my clip it up. I decided to layer some of them to the left of my photo. I took it the day after some freezing rain, and the pine boughs were weighed down with ice.
I often listed to Paul Simon on Pandora, and coincidentally, "I am a rock" came on---a line starts... "a winter's day, in a deep and dark December". I would've used the whole line but I took the picture in February and I am TRYING to be honest here folks :) Seriously, I love getting my page titles from song lyrics.
You can also see how I colored around the labels with some light blue watercolor pencil, and then spread it around a little bit with a wet brush!
Very simple layout in terms of photos and embellishments, but every once in awhile, I capture something beautiful about the season that lasts six months where I love...winter!
Hope everyone has some fair weather this weekend!
Thanks for stopping by:)
Love the clean and simple look on this page, with the awesome clustering of the labels!! Love how you added your title and the flower embellishments over the labels too!
