I saw this with my own eyes!!!!

If you follow my blog, you know that I just got on a plane for the first time in my forty-two years last summer.  Well, I did it again, and this time for much longer---from NY all the way to AZ.  Being the geography whiz that I am, I thought the Grand Canyon was in Phoenix.  The day before we went, I looked at a map and realized it was pretty far away---4.5 hours one way.  I did NOT think my seven year old could  handle this trip the day after flying the day before.  I knew that I was not hauling myself all the way across the country and NOT seeing the Grand Canyon.  Fortunately, Ellie felt the same way.  SO the family split up and we took the trip and boy was it worth it.
I can hardly believe the glory and wonder of this beautiful Earth!
I can't believe how fortunate I was to see this with my own eyes.
You will definitely see this in a future layout.

And Ellie was equally awed.

As wonderful as the trip was, the flight back was a little...well, not fun.  And it was wonderful to get home.  Have a happy day, and thanks for stopping by!

  5. We moved to the Phoenix area in Dec. 1989, and we didn't go to the Grand Canyon until about 5 years ago. I mean it's just a hole in the ground, right. but I remember when we drove up the drive and saw a glimpse of it, it took my breathe away! So glad you got to see it and I hope you enjoyed your visit. Can't wait to see them on a layout!
