~Challenge Mania~

Hello!  First of all, I want to say a GIANT THANKS to all of you who voted for me at Practical Scrappers.  To be honest, I don't think I know what I was really getting into with all the voting stuff!  However, as far as I can understand, I have to submit one more layout based on an inspirational photo, and then by this Saturday, everything will be decided.  I do appreciate the support though!

One of the blogs I follow talked about how when the author won something, she danced around like a deranged chicken!  I can relate...I won a $15.00 gift certificate to CROPSTOP for entering a quote challenge!  I continue to wish that I look like Jennifer Lopez when I dance, but in reality, I think I probably do resemble a deranged chicken...or maybe Elaine on Seinfeld.  That is the dance I did after I learned about CROPSTOP!

In my quest to WIN LOTS MORE FREE STUFF, I am planning to enter several challenges with the layouts in this post.  I spent Saturday with my AWESOME scrappy girlfriends and we laughed all day long, till my ribs ached---boy, did I need it though.  We get together once a month at a crop held in a local girl's garage (heated and comfortable).  Some folks don't like social scrapping, but if you haven't given it a try, you should.  Here are some layouts I did this weekend...
First of all, here's a layout based on a sketch over at Once Upon A Sketch:
As this blog focuses also on journaling, the layout also had the journaling prompt of saying hello to 2012 or saying goodbye to 2011.  I decided to do both, in a way.  First of all, I flipped the sketch.  My oldest turned 13 in January, and so I journaled about how I am saying goodbye to her preteen years and how excited she is about saying hello to her new "teenager-i-ness".  This time has not been easy on our relationship, and I didn't want to have everyone in bloggyland read all the details, so I folded my note and inserted it in this little green envelope.
She actually liked the layout and I told her she couldn't read the journalling till she was much older and she didn't roll her eyes at me (a small miracle).
One more quick shot:
I love trees on any layout but I REALLY loved making the "leaves".
Thanks for looking!!!  I think I am gonna post all my layouts separately to make it easier for the challenge sites...

  1. Hi Sheila! SO awesome to have you at Once Upon A..Sketch. Loved reading your story about "free stuff" . Its always a bonus isnt it? I think I have enough stuff for many people to scrap for many years but its still exciting to win something i admit LOL! LOVE how you tucked the journalling away..I have a 5 year old and I see the attitude already and so I kind of understand why the teens arent the best years between mother and daughter. Thanks so much for playing along with us! Good luck and I wish you many WINS LOL!
