Happy Valentine's Day!
Hope you get to do something special with your loved ones today :)
I am so excited to show you my first reveal as part of the Design Team at My Scraps and More!
Since it's Valentine's Day, I wanted to do a layout about the love of my life---my husband :)
We recently had a family photo shoot. Sadly, this one, though I am rocking the double chin, was the only one I liked of the two of us! I think because he always makes me laugh...
The title couldn't be more true---"It's always been you".
Here is a closeup of the stamped hearts I added. I didn't like how the ink transferred, so I outlined/highlighted the shapes with a gold marker.
I die-cut the doily below from some Crate Paper---an older collection.
I also outlined the little chipboard heart with my gold marker.
And this part, I am SUPER proud of :) I watercolored the word "always" myself, and fussy cut around it. I am taking a watercolor class, and by the time this post goes live, I will have attended two of them. So, I am really interested in this technique and read a lot about it. One tip---if you want to watercolor a word, write the word in watercolor pencil first, then go over it with the paint. The water and paint will blend the pencil into your word. Sometimes the simplest things evade me, I swear! Thank goodness for Pinterest!
For a "love" layout, I wanted to use a Valentine's collection, and Crate Paper is definitely one of my favorite go-to brands! Almost my entire layout (with the exception of the doily and the stamped heart) is from the Crate Paper Love Notes collection. Much of this collection is available in the My Scraps and More store---and, if you use the code 20INFEB you can get 20% off your entire order!!!
Check out the link to the store here.
I love that this collection is so versatile---in fact, my next reveal, which has NOTHING to do with Valentine's Day, is also using this collection...thank goodness hearts are SO popular right now :)
