Free Time!

The best thing about the end of vacation is that with the kids back in school, I have time to scrap again!  Woo Hoo!  And, I have time to link up with some great challenges!

This is a layout that I did of the grand canyon---from our January visit to Arizona.

I must apologize for the photo of my layout.  No matter how many times I took the picture, or used my cropping and straightening tool, I couldn't get it to be straight!  However, I promise you it is!

Here is a closeup of the gorgeous flowers from an older kit at Scrapbook Circle and a little bit of the vertical layering I used...

I based this layout on a sketch from Creative Scrappers.

As you can see, I flipped the sketch and really simplified it.  When you are scrapping something as magnificent as the grand canyon, most embellishments just don't seem to work, so I deliberately kept it simple.  I wanted the photo to speak for itself.
