Part Two....

Ok, I can finally say it---I have been chosen to participate on Pixie Dust Paperie's very First Challenge Design Team!  Pixie Dust has an inspirational challenge once a month which I love because it forces you to STRE-E-E-T-C-C-H your mind and your creativity just a bit more than sketches do.  Here is the challenge for January:
Pixie January Challenge
"Love Notes"

We want a project for Valentine's day, OR a project with heart(s)
It could be a Valentine's day card, a project with the word "Valentine", OR a project with heart(s) on it, the HEART could be from your patterned paper, diecut, stamp, vintage images, charm etc, pretty easy right?

Prize

The winner for Pixie January Challenge will get a $15 gift certificate to shop at Pixie Dust Paperie

Here is my project:

I went with a little Valentine's Day decor, as I don't have too much of that around my house.
I took an old plastic frame that was missing its back, flipped it over, and decoupaged my black paper background onto it.
I used lots of metallic paint and ink on this project.  I hand stitched my tissue paper heart and scrunched it, then added a touch of ink. I glued some black ribbon to the frame to hand it, and though I liked how it looked, it wasn't quite right...and then, I saw it, abandoned on the desk---the perfect touch.
It was a flower that a friend of mine had made a few weeks ago.  She came to my house in desperate need of a "pretty" (our codename for pins) for our Christmas concert.  I taught her how to make this flower, and when it was complete, she decided it was way too big to be a pin, and started to toss it in the trash.  I SHRIEKED.  (I don't throw anything out).  I told her that if she didn't want it, I'd find some use for it.  And voila, here is that use:
Doesn't it just add a little somethin' somethin' to this project?  I simply glued a pin pack to it and then pinned it to my ribbon!
Ok, now it is your turn to create some Valentine's Day loveliness...head over to
Pixie Dust Paperie to enter and also to check out the Design Team's Work.  This is one talented group of folks!  Check out the shop too so you can plan how to spend your $15 if you win....good luck!
Thanks for looking!
