ScrapFIT Reveal # 57 Word of the Year

The challenge for workout #57 is to CREATE using a single word that describes how you want to embrace the new year.  How will you change, create, improve or define your new year?
My word is
TRY.
Here is my "creation"---decided to go OTP (off the page) this time.  Sorry, I think I am watching too much Terra Nova---they constantly go OTG (outside the gates).  Seriously, would you go outside the gate if there were T-rexes out there?  Whoa, I digress.  Back to crafting, which is usually safe :0)
My craft room needs a serious makeover, and I am trying to decide on colors.  Lately, yellow and grey are making appearnces on page layouts, fabric, decorating magazines.  I thought I would try this color combo and see if I like it.  Well, I do...
I started with a frame that a friend had in our garage sale that didn't sell.

Sorry 'bout the background.  Had a little button organizing project going on simultaneously.
I painted with gray paint, added some double size adhesive, and some gorgeous paper by pink paislee.
Then, I resorted to my usual tricks---inked the edges up with some silver ink, distressed the base a little, and started piling on the embellishments.
I used the computer to print my message:
It doesn't hurt to try.
Why this message?
I am facing a lot of new things in my life right now, and I am a person who is afraid of failure.  I want to just be able to jump into new adventures without any worries.  And so, I hope to look at my little word in its frame each day and find encouragement.  Head over to ScrapFIT for some more inspiration and to link up your project for a chance to win a great prize!
