Christmas Exchange---Finally!

In an effort to save money and be creative, a good friend and I decided to MAKE each other gifts this year.  We are both totally obsessed with PINTEREST, and so it is no surprise we both got our ideas from there!  The strange thing is, our gift were both made with Scrabble tiles, and they both included "decor" for our scrapbook rooms.  Great minds think alike, I guess!
We kind of have a saying at our crop days---when in doubt, and you just can't finish a layout, we say "Put a bird on it!"  Pretty much all of us have an assortment of bird rub-ons, stickers, etc.  If you haven't seen the SNL skit on this, you should you-tube it, it is pretty funny.
So, here is the gift I made her:
I used an frame that has been laying around my house, specifically in my "do something with this" drawer.  I don't want to go into a TON of detail on what I did to the frame, as I will be doing a tutorial on it in the future.  Let's say that it involves mod-podge, lace, and spray paint.
I used some old scrabble tiles for the saying, and some cute embellishments to fill it out.
Here is a closeup of my bird:

I cut some felt into a circle and stitched around it, and then glued the eye and the beak on.  I think it turned out to be pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself.
I am going to enter this in the Frame of Life Challenge---over at Lessology.  It is a good friend who understands that you have to hurry up and open Christmas gifts so you can enter them in a challenge :o)!
On a separate note, here is something I made her son, who is a leg0/Star Wars/space fan:

BTW, not an original idea---saw something like this over on pinterest---I changed it quite a bit, but whoever posted it over there gets the credit!
And, if you are wondering what she gave me, I will tell you:
THE CUTEST COASTERS (yes, I do use coasters) made of scrabble tiles, and a little decor thingamajiggy that says I "heart" flowers---cuz you know I do!
I will let her post pics on her blog.
Thanks for looking and happy holidays!
