ScrapFIT Challenge #50: Be inspired by a book!

Hello all!  It is time for ScrapFIT's challenge #50:  Be inspired by a book!
LOVE this challenge as I am a CRAZY reader, but it was a tough one!
Here's my layout:
Here is the book cover:

The title, La Ville, means "the town" or maybe "the city" (remember your high school French?).  So I started thinking about the town I live in, which got me to thinking about summer and the things we like to do the most in the summertime.  Several times a week, we get veggies from the Amish farm down the road, we go to the beach, we take books out of the library, and we go to the local diner for ice cream.  That is how I was inspired.  My original idea was to replicate the lamp post on my layout. Then I realized I just liked the swirly part, so I got out my chipboard collection and found a suitable swirl.  Lately, I am also into pop-dotting and stickling A LOT, as I did on the clouds below.
Though challenging, this was a fun layout---it made me really appreciate summer, especially now as there are only a couple of precious weeks left!  I hope you head on over to ScrapFIT and participate...
Once again, Precocious Paper is the sponsor for this challenge. How lucky are we?  Check out this GORGEOUS prize:

I love these colors together. Hope to see your layout soon :D
Thanks for looking.
