There's no such thing as a mistake!

Greetings and Salutations...I have Charlotte's Web on my mind today.

When my daughters (6 and 12) scrapbook with me, they often get frustrated that their project didn't come out just they way they wanted it.  I always say to them "In scrapbooking, there are no mistakes---you just cover it up with another piece of paper."  They grumble about mom's advice, but usually end up taking it, and USUALLY, they like their finished products!
Today, I had to take my own advice, and was it hard~first I will show you the layout sketch, and then my big mistakey interpretation of it!
Another great layout from Sketchy Thursdays :

Now, here is my take on it.  Can you find my mistake?  It's a biggie!
Hoping from far away you can't tell!  When putting the three dimensional circular accent (made by Pink Paislee) down on the middle picture it didn't quite form a circle so I quickly pulled it up---along with half of my picture.  Then, trying to take my own advice, I started to cover it up with a bigger circle.  An intelligent person would think that I would have learned from my first mistake.  Nooo, not me.  I did the same thing again and ripped up more of the picture (this time, there may have been some obscenities shouted---good thing the kids are still at school!).  I created a mistake that was too darn big to cover up!  So, fix #2---when you can't cover it, ink it!  I inked all the white parts where my photo was torn up, hopefully aging it a bit.  These weren't the best quality pictures, but they really show my little one's energy, and there was no way I was gonna not scrap 'em.
Here is a closeup of the world's biggest mistake!

On a more positive note, I put some fun details on this page that I would like to point out to you.  In the past, I have dabbled with making jewelry.  I haven't done it for years, but fortunately, I still have all my supplies.  I found some bead caps (they look like small gold flowers) and hammered them flat.  They fit perfectly in the holes in the greenish paper.  For some reason, bling and pearl bling annoyed me today---weird because I use it on almost every layout.  These bead caps fit the ticket---available super cheap at Michael's or Joanne's.
I tried some twine that I purchased very reasonably over at Scrapbook Circle (LOVE) for the first time. You can see a teeny bit of it above "Life" in the title.  While looking through my beading supplies, I came across this angel pendant that I picked up at a garage sale for 10cents.  I bent the top a bit and connected it to my paper.

I encourage you to use supplies from your other hobbies on your layouts.  If you aren't a jewelry maker, use some old jewelry (did that on my first blog layout!).  Check out the stuff around your house...can you cut it, ink it, and most importantly, can you glue it down?  Nothing is off limits.
I would love to see how people incorporate their other hobbies into scrapbooking!
And don't forget---you can always turn a "mistake" into something else!

So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, good night!
(I had no idea that was how you spelled that---thank goodness for google!)
