New Die-Cut Reveal at Stuck on You Sketches: It's Spring!

Hi there!
It's the Die-Cut team's reveal day over at Stuck on You sketches.
To me, nothing says spring like hauling your bicycle out after a long winter, so I decided to use a die-cut bicycle.  And of course, we can't forget spring flowers, so I punched out lots of those as well.
I used up lots of My American Crafts Mayberry collection, which has lots of summer accents.  I think the colors go well with spring, too.  I had this picture of Lucie dyeing eggs for easter; hence the title, "She's a good egg".

Boy, did I have fun with the basket on the bike.  First, I drew a shape on paper that I wanted my punches, etc. to go in.  I cut out the shape and used it as a stencil for some splatters of red spray ink.  Is there anyone else out there who decides on spray ink after the pictures are glued down?
After the ink dried, I added little punched flowers and hearts...and liquid pearls dabbed in the center of the flowers finished it off!

This is such a fun challenge---I hope you play along with us!
Head over to Stuck on You Sketches to see how the rest of the team interpreted "Spring".  Should be fun!  Have a great day!

Lazy Summer Days

Hi there! Because it is still very much winter where I live, I NEEDED to do a summer layout, I think just to prove to myself that Summer does indeed exist and will be back someday!

I chose some cute pics of my little one and some family pals hamming it up after swimming.
Everything I used was from Basic Grey's Fresh Cut collection, which is one of my absolute favorites.  It has the feel of watercolors, which I love.  And the colors and embellishments are lovely!

Both sets of the letters above come with the collection pack, and I love how they look together.

I LOVE using pop-dots to add dimension, like I did with the "take in the sunshine" embellishment, and also the balloon in my first closeup.

I used an LGS sketch:

New Sketch Challenge at My Scraps and More!

Hi there! There is a new sketch challenge at My Scraps and More that you will not want to miss!  It is Sketch #76:

Here is my take:
This was the day of the all-county band festival---my girlie was picked to play---and even though she says, "I was LAST CHAIR, Mom!"  I say, "You are young!  What an honor to be chosen!"
Love this picture of her holding her trumpet!

I used TONS of Studio Calico's Lemon Lush Collection---available, of course, at the My Scraps and More Store!
Check out the store here.
I did throw in a feather and an arrow from Basic Grey's Persimmon collection, which is one of my all time favorites!
Here are a few closeups:
I fussy cut the teeny triangles but it was worth it :)
Be sure to head over to the My Scraps and More Sketch Blog to link up your take on this sketch.  Shop for Lemon Lush here....
Thanks so much for stopping by today---have a great weekend!

Get Well Soon---New Reveal at Stuck on You Sketches

Hi there!
Today over at SOUS, the challenge is to use a window die-cut on your project...I needed a card for a pal who was under the weather.
Not sure exactly how this die-cut relates to being ill except I LOVED this image so much that it made ME feel better!  My sick friend is a cat lover, so I assumed it would do the same for her.
Isn't that a gorgeous die cut?
I used my side-of-the-road free typewriter to type up a quick sentiment.  Such a simple card, but sure to brighten any sick cat lover's day (LOL!!!)!
Head on over to SOUS to see what all the girls came up with...
Hope you will play along with us on this fun challenge...
Because guess what?
We have a great sponsor this month....
and one lucky challenge participant for the month will receive and 30$ gift certificate to...

New Reveal at My Scraps and More!!!

Today is team B's reveal at My Scraps and More...I absolutely loved this sketch---

I stuck to it pretty literally.  Why am I showing a layout about fall in March, you may ask?  Because I am a slowpoke scrapper!!! I can never seem to scrap a holiday for example in a timely way...think Easter LO at Christmastime!!!
In any case, this is a photo I snapped on a country road in October, just looking up into the trees.  Because the sketch called for four smaller photos, I simple cut the photo into a square, then divided it into four more equal squares...

I used TONS of Little Yellow Bicycle.
 like teeny chipboard shapes...
 and a pre-scored accordion flower...
and threw in some faux stitching to finish it off...

Here is the sketch:
Isn't it fun?
Head over to My Scraps and More and then click on Sketch Blog to see what the rest of team B came up with!
You should definitely link up with us!!!!  Have a great weekend!
